Mit der Fotobox (Photobooth) hat Google dem Google Pixel 3 und Pixel 3 XL einen exklusiven Kamera-Modi spendiert, der jetzt mit einem Update der Google Kamera eine brandneue Funktion bekommt: Die „Kuss-Erkennung“. Richtig gelesen, in der Fotobox macht das Smartphone nicht nur ein Foto wenn wir lachen, wie das bis anhin der Fall war, sondern neu auch wenn wir uns „küssen“.
Google widmet der „Kuss-Erkennung“ auf dem „AI“-Blog einen sehr ausführlichen Artikel, in dem die Funktionsweise der automatischen Erkennung ziemlich ins Detail erläutert wird. Interessant, sofern man sich für die Materie interessiert und sich auch ein bisschen damit auskennt.
We worked with photographers to identify five key expressions that should trigger capture: smiles, tongue-out, kissy/duck face, puffy-cheeks, and surprise. We then trained a neural network to classify these expressions. The kiss detection model used by Photobooth is a variation of the Image Content Model (ICM) trained for Google Clips, fine tuned specifically to focus on kissing. Both of these models use MobileNets in order to run efficiently on-device while continuously processing the images at high frame rate. The outputs of the models are used to evaluate the quality of each frame for the shutter control algorithm.
